The position is at the SciLifeLab Ancient DNA facility at the Department of Organismal Biology. SciLifeLab Ancient DNA is a core facility that provides analysis of ancient DNA as a service to researchers, contract archaeologists, museum staff and others. SciLifeLab Ancient DNA is active both at the Department of Organismal Biology and the Department of Archaeology and Classical Studies, Stockholm University. Duties/Project description: Work in ancient DNA clean room laboratory and regular molecular biology laboratories to generate DNA sequence data from mainly human and animal specimens, but also other types of material. The work includes lab management, project documentation, sampling, DNA extraction, library preparation, quality controls and routine cleaning of the laboratory. An important task is to follow the literature on ancient DNA analysis and improve, develop and implement relevant new methods.
