The position includes working as a zooarchaeologist and project managing the ArchaeoScience Unit, which advises and carries out scientific analysis for the archaeological museums in Denmark. Furthermore, the position include a research component on the domestication process and the the transition from hunting and gathering to agriculture, in the central Zagros. The right applicant therefore has a strong track-record in the analysis and publication of faunal remains, including the ability to carry out research and contribute to published and unpublished reports on materials from Denmark and the Middle East. The person appointed to the position will partly analyse various faunal remains, but will need to understand and promote other relevant science analysis as required, as well as running the unit and collaborate with partners within the University and beyond. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to continue the development of the ArchaeoScience Unit, as well as develop a personal research profile.
