The Department of Archaeology seeks to appoint a part-time, permanent Biomolecular Research Laboratory Technician. The post holder will be based in the Department's laboratories, which are spread over several buildings on the Downing and Old Addenbrooke's sites: the holder of this role will work primarily in the Henry Wellcome Building (HWB) on Fitzwilliam Street. The laboratories have facilities for the extraction and analysis of DNA, proteins and hormones. The duties of the role holder include preparing and analyzing samples in support of research activity in the biomolecular laboratories; setting up equipment and experiments for teaching or research; supporting laboratory administration; ensuring that students and other laboratory users observe health and safety procedures; assisting with maintenance of laboratory tidiness and organization; disposing of chemical and biological waste; purchasing laboratory supplies.
