The Tree-ring Research Group, Department of Geography at Swansea University are seeking to appoint a Laboratory Technician to support research in isotope dendrochronology. The successful candidate will work closely with Professor Loader and as part of a small research team to deliver the research agenda and strategic ambitions of the research group: developing and advancing isotope dendrochronology and dendroclimatology. This is a position informally associated with the ERC selected, UKRI funded QUERCUS research project. This work will mainly involve the precise cutting of tree rings, cellulose preparation and weighing of small cellulose samples. To complete the tasks required of the isotope dating technique, applicants would normally require manual dexterity and be precise, patient and very well-organised.
