The Imaging Platform at the Leibniz-Zentrum für Archäologie (LEIZA) (IMPALA) offers a range of imaging equipment: a 3D computed tomography system Phoenix V|tome|x L 450 and a 2D X-ray system Isovolt Titan Neo 320 kV from Waygate Technologies (Baker Hughes) (in Mainz), as well as two 3D scanners, various stereo, digital, light and confocal microscopes (in Mainz, Mayen and Neuwied), and a scanning electron microscope (in Neuwied). The IMPALA supports internal and external users in the application of various imaging methods (advice, services, instruction, etc.), the evaluation of the generated images/data (reports, quantitative analyses, data processing, etc.) and the publication of the results (research data management, open-access, FAIR, etc.). It is also important that the generated images/data meet certain quality standards.
