The School of Chemistry is seeking to appoint a Research Technician. The post-holder will contribute to research by applying pre-agreed analytical approaches to biogeochemically characterise archaeological and modern samples, and gathering/manipulating routine data, with regular pre-agreed deadlines. The post-holder will also provide technical support in the routine running of laboratory operations including the use of specialised equipment, risk assessment, safe handling, storage and waste disposal of chemicals. The post-holder will carry out experimental techniques using pre-agreed sample preparation and wet chemistry protocols. They will carry out specialised techniques (including GC, GC-MS, HT-GC-MS, GC-C-IRMS and GC-TC-IRMS).
