UCL Qatar wishes to appoint a Research Associate/Senior Research Associate to be a key member of the UCL Qatar research team working in Sudan. The role is based at UCL's campus in Doha, Qatar, and requires fieldwork in Sudan for an estimated two to four months per year. The post is available for four years beginning in Autumn/Winter 2014.
The UCL Qatar Sudan project focuses on the ancient industries that supported the growth and power of the Kingdom of Kush, namely iron production, mining and quarrying. Over the coming years the number of sites, periods of time and types of industries that are studied as part of this research is expected to grow.
