This is an exciting opportunity to join the Medieval Green Revolution project, funded by the European Research Council (MEDGREENREV), which is investigating the relationship between environmental and cultural transformations during the medieval period in the Western Mediterranean. The role incorporates laboratory, field, and office-based work in the discipline of geoarchaeology (primarily soil micromorphology), and your primary responsibility will be the preparation of archaeological soil and sediment thin-sections for micromorphological analysis. You will also be the laboratory coordinator for the newly refurbished and equipped Microanalysis Preparation Unit (MPU), with responsibility for its running and maintenance. You will carry out some additional laboratory tasks, supporting the organisation of fieldwork activities for the project, assisting with sample collection and coring on overseas fieldwork in Spain and North Africa.
