The University of Copenhagen seeks to appoint four senior researchers to the Globe Institute at the Department of Health and Medical Sciences within our ArchaeoScience core facility. The positions include working as zooarchaeologist, biological anthropologist (human osteology), geoarchaeologist or geophysicist for the ArchaeoScience Unit, which advises and carries out scientific analysis for the archaeological museums. Furthermore, the positions include a research component on Near Eastern, Danish and Greenlandic zoo-, geo-archaeology, geo-chemistry or biological and forensic anthropology. The right applicants therefore have a strong track-record in the analysis and publication of human or faunal remains, or characterization of deposits including macrofossils and element scanning. Applicants also must carry out research and contribute to published and unpublished reports on materials from Denmark and Greenland. Persons appointed to the position will partly analyse various human and faunal remains from excavations connected with contract archaeology as well as analysis for various research projects. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to continue the work of the ArchaeoScience Unit, as well as develop a personal research profile.
