The School of Chemistry of the University of Bristol is seeking to appoint an open ended fixed funding for a Research Technician. The post-holder will contribute to research by applying pre-agreed analytical approaches to biogeochemically characterise archaeological and modern samples. The post holder will also provide technical support in the routine running of laboratory operations including the use of specialised equipment, risk assessment, safe handling, storage and waste disposal of chemicals. The role holder will fully support research laboratory activities, ensuring that the laboratories are prepared for experimentation and are compliant with relevant Health and Safety and other legislative or policy requirements. They will carry out specialised techniques (including GC, GC-MS, HT-GC-MS, GC-C-IRMS and GC-TC-IRMS) and train others in these and essential core functions.
