The BioArCh facility within the Department of Archaeology is seeking to appoint a Grade 5 laboratory technician in the field of archaeological chemistry with specialism in organic residue analysis. You will join a vibrant research community of academic members of staff, research staff, and post-graduate students. As a technician in BioArCh, you will join our expert technical team and contribute directly to our high-quality research in archaeological science. The role will include carrying out research and training specifically in the field of archaeological chemistry and organic residue analysis. You will lead on technical aspects regarding the preparation of archaeological artefacts and their analysis by a wider range of analytical techniques, including GCMS and GCIRMS and, where required, protein mass spectrometry. You will be responsible for maintaining good practice within the organic residue group and assisting with data interpretation and preparation for research outputs as required.
