Associate professorship of radiocarbon science (Oxford)

The School of Archaeology in association with Wolfson College is seeking to appoint an Associate Professor of Radiocarbon Science. The School of Archaeology, comprising the Institute of Archaeology and Research Laboratory for Art History and Archaeology, is a major centre for research and teaching in archaeological science, integrated with other branches of the discipline. The post holder will be Director of the renowned Oxford Radiocarbon Accelerator Unit (ORAU), a key facility within the School, and will maintain ORAU’s position at the cutting edge of radiocarbon research. The successful candidate will become a Non-Tutorial Fellow at Wolfson College, with access to a range of benefits and facilities enhancing academic life, as set out in the job description. The main duties of the post are to carry out, disseminate the results of, obtain funding for, and supervise research at a high international standard in radiocarbon science, to manage the ORAU facility, to teach a range of topics in radiocarbon science via lectures, classes and tutorials, and to perform administrative and pastoral functions associated with teaching and research.
