Within the frame of the interdisciplinary research project “Geometric/Archaic Pottery from the Artemis Sanctuary, Lousoi”, directed by PD Dr. Michael Kerschner at the Austrian Archaeological Institute (OeAI) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW) we advertise the position of a research assistant for the documentation and analysis of ceramic thin-sections. On the basis of archaeometric pottery analyses, cultural contacts between the region of the northern Peloponnese (Greece), where Lousoi is situated, and the Achaean colony of Metapontion (Italy) are to be investigated. The aim is to identify imports from various Greek production sites as well as local southern Italian productions.
