The Palaeo-BARN will lead the zooarchaeological component of the research and will appoint the PDRA to have specific responsibility for the sampling, curation, and morphological analyses of ancient livestock bones. The post holder will be expected to plan and conduct work in close collaboration with the project’s genome biologists (Munich) and immunologists (Oxford Zoology). Specifically, the role will involve the overall management of sampling trips, curations of samples, management of collaborators across Europe and morphological analyses of bones from ancient livestock remains (pigs, cattle and chickens). The PDRA is also encouraged to pursue independently derived questions within the framework of the grant. The PDRA will be responsible for writing up their work for publication.
