We invite applications for a 1-year, fixed-term, full-time postdoctoral research associate. The post-holder will contribute to the Alan Turing Institute-funded research programme PALAEOANALYTICS, which is developing data science and machine learning cross-disciplinary analytical methods to apply to human evolutionary studies. The postdoctoral research associate will work with the PI and collaborators in Cambridge, and with research engineers at the Alan Turing Institute. The aim of the project is to develop data science and machine learning methods to extract and analyse human palaeontological and archaeological data related to human evolution, and to work towards ways of integrating these data more fully with bioinformatics and genomics. The role of the post-holder will be to develop the trial data sets for the development of the data science methodologies, and work with the PI and the research engineer in developing the protocols and algorithms. The post-holder will also be expected to play a major role in organising the networking and workshops that will support the project.
