The project contemplates the archaeometric study of Ligurian and Mediterranean ceramics dated from Prehistory to Modern Age, through mineralogical-petrographic (optical microscopy, SEM-EDS, XRD) and chemical (XRF, p-XRF, in collaboration with other European laboratories) analytical methods. The research will be carried out with a strong interdisciplinary archaeometric-archaeological approach in cooperation with archaeological institutions from various geographic areas. The study will be focused on the reconstruction of the production processes and the trade routes in Italy and the Mediterranean, as well as on the improvement of the existing ceramological classifications.
