Post-Doc : Remote sensing digital data coordinator and project manager (Cambridge)

The McDonald Institute invites applications for a three-year, full-time, Remote Sensing Digital Data Coordinator & Project Manager.
Key tasks will include: coordinating the implementation of an international, multi-partner project aimed using remote sensing technologies and archive digitization to map archaeological and other heritage sites across eight sub-Saharan countries, and producing an Open Access database of this information; establishing, developing and maintaining appropriate administration systems and procedures to help ensure the project is delivered on time, to budget and to the required quality standards; producing detailed project outlines, plans and reports; organizing and facilitating contributions from project partners and other stakeholders, and developing training materials and protocols, papers and publications in line with best practice and project objectives.
Additional duties are likely to include identification of archaeological sites and monuments through the use of remote sensing analyses and desk-based research on existing sites; assisting with ground-based verification fieldwork; organizing project meetings and training workshops with partners and collaborators.
