This vacancy is very limited in time and scope and needs to be conducted on site at the University of Groningen, where the samples are already housed. It is aimed at someone with considerable radiocarbon dating experience - ideally a Master's or PhD - and a strong Bayesian chronological background. The preferred candidate will also have extensive knowledge of the history of Early Egypt. As a postdoctoral researcher, you are responsible for: Preparing a group of organic samples from museum collections for radiocarbon measurement; Statistically analysing the results obtained, and combining them with existent results, to refine the chronology of the first Egyptian state.
