The project “Voices of Indigenous Amazonia: historical processes of sociobiodiversity in the face of the challenges of the Anthropocene” is hiring a post-doctorate researcher in paleoecology/archaeobotany, to be based at the University of São Paulo, Brazil. The candidate must be fluent in Portuguese, speak and write well in English, and have proven previous experience in phytolith analysis. The project seeks to understand the nature and spatial distribution of agricultural and forest management practices over the last 1,500 years in the Xingu Indigenous Territory, Mato Grosso state, Brazil, and apply this knowledge to help protect sociobiodiversity in the region.
