We are looking for a postdoctoral research fellow to work on the Leverhulme Trust-funded project, “Weaponised Pasts: The Evolution Of Heritage-based Hostility On Social Media”. You will undertake research focused on the cultural evolution of archaeological information using advanced text-mining techniques and statistics. The project team will study the evolution of heritage-based hostility on social media using a novel approach that combines, for the first time, cultural evolution, public archaeology and psychological theories. Cultural evolution is a powerful framework for analysing the transmission of information online, typically by highlighting how communication content and context impact information spread. To enhance the comprehensiveness of this framework, we will also account for how participants in the communication may vary.
