The University of Cyprus invites applications for the vacancy of one Postdoctoral Researcher full time position at the Archaeological Research Unit. The selected candidate will work for the operation (lectures and Labs) of the Graduate Program “Digital Heritage and Landscape Archaeology” of the University of Cyprus and the production of research work that will arise from the activities of the Silvia Ioannou Chair on Digital Humanities. The Digital Humanities GeoInformatics Lab comprises a vibrant research group, housed in the heart of Nicosia, Cyprus. Directed by Prof Dr Apostolos Sarris, the Lab employs several international Postdoctoral and PhD researchers, and offers access to research space, high powered computers, geophysical instrumentation and specialized processing software. The fellow will be part of an active team with expertise in Geophysical Prospection, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Satellite Remote Sensing, Computational methods, Database design, and more. Activities of the lab include basic research, teaching at the graduate program “Digital Heritage and Landscape Archaeology”, and collaborative fieldwork in different countries throughout the year. Through international collaboration and research amongst team members, the Lab offers a dedicated, supporting environment for the professional development of young researchers.
