The Evolutionary Morphology Group of the Institute of Evolutionary Medicine, University of Zurich is seeking to fill the position of a Postdoc to work on a NSF-SNSF co-funded project entitled “Evolutionary and ontogenetic foundations of modern body form: inferences from the juvenile early Homo skeletons from Nariokotome, Kenya, and Dmanisi, Georgia”. The project aims to analyse the known Homo erectus skeletons using advanced virtual imaging techniques and modern reference samples to explore aspects such as evolutionary changes in body proportions and growth trajectories, skeletal development, pathology, and biomechanical adaptations in response to bipedalism. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to collect data abroad and present their findings at international conferences, as well as to collaborate in other projects of the group. In addition, they will assist in teaching as well as in training and mentoring of students.
