The School of Archaeology, in partnership with the Faculty of Classics and the Science and Technology Facilities Council-funded ISIS Neutron and Muon Source, is recruiting a Senior Research Fellow in Classical and Scientific Archaeology. The appointee will be employed by the School of Archaeology and is a joint appointment with the ISIS Neutron and Muon Source at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. The successful candidate will combine their expertise in both archaeological science and classical archaeology (of any period across the Roman or Hellenistic worlds) to attract and teach graduate students, as well as conduct research, give lectures, classes and tutorials, supervise, support and examine students at all levels, and engage in the administrative work of the School of Archaeology and the Faculty of Classics - in examination assessment, admissions processes, and administration. They will also contribute to the development and application of science-based archaeology at the ISIS Neutron and Muon Source.
