The zooarchaeologist/field leader will be part of the Selje project team. During the excavation of Selje (Stad municipality, Vestland county) in 2023 a well-preserved and extensive archaeofauna dating to various settlement phases (Late Neolithic to the Viking Age/Middle Ages) was recovered. The key task of this position will be the analysis of the animal bone assemblages from the excavation. This work will be carried out under the guidance and in close cooperation with the project manager. Laboratory work and analyses will take place at the University Museum Natural History Department laboratories, in near collaboration with their staff.
