As part of the project “Spectroscopy and Geochemistry of chert. Reconstructing human mobility in the Pyrenees from the first Modern Humans to the last Pleistocene Hunter-gatherers”, the Departament d’Història i Arqueologia is recruiting a post-doctoral researcher. The applicant will be in charge of constituting the chert geological reference collection of the project, which will involve fieldwork seasons. Moreover, the applicant will be in charge of developing spectroscopic analysis using VNIR spectroscopy on archaeological chert collections and geological reference collections. The ideal applicant will have a MSc and a PhD on Quaternary or Geoarchaeology with at least one previous postdoctoral position linked to the characterization of prehistoric lithic raw materials. The ideal applicant will have expertise in the use of multiscalar approaches to the analysis of lithics and proved expertise on the use of R, Phyton and QGIS.
