The FeliXart Museum is currently looking to hire a Art History and Technical Research Collaborator in the framework of the research project BeAM (Belgian Abstract Modernism in the Spotlight: technical art history research with a focus on synthetic organic pigments for improved dating and conservation) in close collaboration with the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage (KIK-IRPA). The BeAM project aims to revaluate Belgian abstract modernism's antedated works to reposition them within a more accurate cultural-historical context. The methodology to be developed in this project centers on integrating art historical research with material-technical analysis, in which the FeliXart Museum is responsible for art historical research and jointly responsible for the physical evaluation of artworks. The BeAM project partners are the Paintings Laboratory and the Scientific Imagery unit of the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage (KIK-IRPA), the University of Antwerp (AXES), and the University of Ghent (Separation Science Group). This combined position is ideal for a professional equally passionate about art's historical aspects and its technical examination. It offers the opportunity to contribute to the field of art history in a unique and significant way, providing a deeper and more nuanced understanding of Belgian Abstract Modernism through the integration of historical context and technical analysis.
