The project is undertaking documentation, digitisation, and open access dissemination of archaeological information from across the vast Central Asian region. The project draws together archaeological data from existing archives, country-based monument records, remote-sensing, field surveys, and other research databases, to create a Historic Environment Record for the whole region. The post holder will have a strong background in computational archaeology and landscape modelling, with experience of international collaborations. The post holder will contribute to research and training in the following areas: Geographical Information Systems (GIS), aerial remote sensing, spatial statistics, and landscape modelling. They will have a track record of open-access publications including scripts and/or codes in R and/or Python programming languages. The post holder will have extensive experience of using GIS (ideally QGIS and/or ArcGIS) application to archaeological research and landscape modelling.
