The junior researcher will participate in research activities of the project “Ready for the future: understanding long-term resilience of the human culture” in Programme Johannes Amos Comenius which is focused on understanding basic principles of the resilience of human society in a historical perspective using long time series and on the transfer of the acquired knowledge into everyday social life. The junior researcher will be integrated in the research team of Dr. Zuzana Hofmanová in collaboration with her research group at Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology. The candidate is expected to apply an innovative approach of proteomics, metagenomics, population genetics and/or pathogen genetics to archaeology and other disciplines, to pursue a holistic and interdisciplinary concept of research on human society and its resilience in the past. The main focus will be on sample targeting (archaeological expertise is an advantage here) and especially on data analysis and interpretation of large datasets resulting from ancient biomolecular research (ancient human, animal and pathogen DNA, sedaDNA, and ancient proteins).
