We are looking for a postdoc candidate to be part of the Research team of the ERC Consolidator DEMODRIVERS. The Post doc will be required to take responsibility for all the steps involved in the paleoecological reconstruction of the Bolivian Amazon. This will involve, but will not be limited to, splitting, documenting and sampling sedimentary cores; extraction and analysis of pollen, charcoal and NNP; synthetizing and publishing results. S/he will coordinate, together with the other postdocs, storage, tagging and accessibility of all the samples. S/he will have the opportunity to work with a 5.5 meters long lake core from the Bolivian Amazon with a basal age of 16k cal BP. This core covers all the most important events since the late Pleistocene (extinction of the Megafauna, climate change, arrival of humans) with a chronological resolution that has no equal in the Amazon basin.
