The Cyprus Instituteinvites applications for a highly motivated and qualified researcher to join the Institute at the position of Post-doctoral Research Fellow at STARC. The successful candidate is required to analyse an important and specific collection of archaeometallurgical remains (crucibles, slags, metal objects and working debris) from Early Bronze Age Keros. The role holder will need to complete the analysis of previously analysed material, complementing a substantial existing data set from this site, and bring the entire material to publication. The research activity is mainly based in the Archaeological Materials Science labs of STARC, using metallographic microscope, SEM-EDS, and hhXRF as the main analytical instruments; fluency in their use for the study of slags and technical ceramics is essential.
