Postdoc in Osteoarchaeology in prehistoric South American contexts Applications are invited from highly motivated and qualified candidates post-doc contract entitled: "Analysis and study of human remains from prehistoric contexts of South America", within the team coordinated by Dr. Eugenio Bortolini at the Department of Cultural Heritage of the University of Bologna. The candidate will join the PRIN 2022 project HABITS - Life-histories of prehistoric human groups in South America: a tale on environmental adaptations and subsistence economies. The aim of this multidisciplinary research project is to understand the interaction between humans and environment, the emergence of different subsistence and social strategies, patterns of human mobility and interaction in South America during the late Holocene, through the in-depth study of pre-Columbian human remains from a number of key contexts. The selected candidate will be responsible for the osteoarchaeological analysis of bone artefacts to provide a better understanding of profile, lifestyle, and health status of the sampled individuals in a period of strong socio-cultural change and adaptive flexibility.
