You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where humanities scholars collaborates with computational scientists (Machine Learning, Computer Vision, image processing, big data and high-performance computing), conservators, chemists, and physicists, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research. The Centre for Cultural Heritage Technology (CCHT) in Venice is coordinated by Dr Arianna Traviglia, who has extensive experience in mediating the inclusion of technology within the study and protection of Cultural Heritage. Research at CCHT focuses on promoting cutting-edge technologies and approaches for analysis, preservation and protection of Cultural Heritage. At the Centre, you will be working in the framework of the ‘Casa delle Tecnologie emergent- Opificio Digitale per la Cultura ("House of Emerging Technologies - Digital Workshop for Culture)’ project (2023-2025). The project aims to develop cutting-edge technologies for museum storage facilities, particularly focusing on archaeological artifacts. It combines robotics for efficient storage arrangement and 3D digitization technologies connected to blockchain for enhanced documentation. As a team member, your role will be crucial in supporting the robotics and ICT partners throughout the planning and design phases of the project. Drawing from your expertise in museum operations and storage solutions, as well as your understanding of the dynamics of museum usage by personnel and stakeholders, you will play a key role in developing a fully automated museum deposit infrastructure. Additionally, you will be responsible for contributing to reporting and preparing deliverables.
