The main purpose of this position is to develop and implement statistical models of maritime contact and trade networks in the 3rd millennium BCE Mediterranean, such as contact network models, or continuous diffusion models. Using a variety of cultural data, calibrated radiocarbon dates and patterns of environment and subsistence, the successful candidate will establish which model best explains the data, in order to infer routes of trade cultural dissemination.
