Applications are sought for a Research Fellow to join the project “ISLAMAFR: Conquest, Ecology and Economy in Islamic North Africa: The Example of the Central Medjerda Valley”. ISLAMAFR is a collaboration between the UCL Institute of Archaeology, the Deutsches Archaeologisches Institut (Berlin) and the Institut National du Patrimoine (Tunisia) which is jointly funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). The Research Fellow will be responsible for conducting petrographic and geochemical research on glazed and unglazed ceramics from North Africa. They will prepare and analyse ceramics, and participate in fieldwork in Tunisia, including organising and supporting project logistics. They will lead on, and contribute to, the authorship of articles, reports, presentations and other project outputs, and assist in the design and delivery of a planned workshop in London.
