At the Department of Earth Science there is a vacancy for a position as a researcher within speleothem palaeothermometry. The position is affiliated to the externally financed SapienCE Center of Excellence and to the ERC project FluidMICS. The researcher will work on generating paleoclimate records from speleothems from South Africa, with special focus on temperature reconstructions. Thereby, we apply the whole range of proxy methods available in Bergen, namely fluid inclusion microthermometry, fluid inclusion isotopes, and clumped isotopes. In addition, the samples need to be dated and their petrography assessed.
