Research Associate with specialization, experience, and training in dendrochronology is sought for a position at the Cornell Tree-Ring Laboratory. This position is to collaborate on and to support the research of the Cornell Tree-Ring Laboratory and to support and assist with teaching in dendrochronology (a class in one semester each year – and the laboratory training of students in dendrochronology. Teaching experience is preferred but not required. Appropriate academic title (Teaching Associate or Lecturer) will be based on role. The position reports to and works with the Director of the Cornell Tree-Ring Laboratory. Candidates must hold (by start date) a PhD and must have training/experience in dendrochronological fieldwork, training/experience in dendrochronological laboratory work, training/experience and facility with tree-ring sample preparation, sample recording and analysis, including crossdating, chronology-building and subsequent tree-ring time-series analysis for dendrochronological research (e.g. Dendro Program Library routines and more recent equivalents). Experience/interest in archaeological dendrochronology (or other cultural heritage relevant areas), and/or isotope/climatic applications in dendrochronology, is preferred.
