The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at the University of Cyprus is seeking applicants to fill a Special Scientist for Research (SSR) position with the option of part-time or full-time employment. This position will be involved in research associated to the "strengthening of unreinforced heritage masonry structures" project, under the "proof of concept for technology/knowhow applications" program of Research and Innovation Foundation. The Special Scientist will be responsible for conducting research related to the strengthening of historic and heritage unreinforced masonry structures. His/Her duties will include: Designing and overseeing experiments on unreinforced masonry elements; Coordinating the construction of masonry specimens; Instrumenting and collecting experimental data.
