Research Scientist position as part of the project "FOODSEC: Food security in Bronze Age Ireland". This project will investigate how past societies managed food security by undertaking a case study on food storage practices in Bronze Age Ireland. Archaeological evidence (food-storage facilities; food remains) and folklife and folklore evidence (food-storage facilities) will be collated, and new scientific analyses will be undertaken (experimental pits; stable isotope analysis). The Research Scientist will investigate evidence from environmental archaeology (focusing on archaeobotany and zooarchaeology). They will collate and analyse relevant data and create interactive online maps. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to receive training in data analysis and mapping.
