The Ancient DNA Group at the Institute of Clinical Molecular Biology (IKMB) focuses on the evolutionary history of the human gene-pool as studied through ancient DNA in archaeological remains. As part of the IKMB and the UKSH, the group is strongly linked to clinical disease research and translational applications. The successful applicant will be responsible for investigating human-pathogen- and human-diet-interactions over the last 10,000 years to understand the evolution of modern disease-associated variation.
