The School of Chemistry is seeking to appoint a Research Associate in Analytical Chemistry. The role holder will join a multidisciplinary group of researchers working on a NERC-funded project entitled “AquaNeo – Resolving the fisher-farmer conundrum in Prehistoric Europe using biomolecular approaches”, led by Dr Melanie Roffet-Salque (University of Bristol). The postholder will be part of the Organic Geochemistry Unit within the School of Chemistry. You will be responsible for the development, testing and implementation of new analytical and data processing methods for the identification of aquatic resources from archaeological lipid extracts. You will be acquiring compound-specific 14C dates from archaeological lipid extracts at the Bristol Research AMS facility.
