The School of Natural Sciences, Macquarie University is seeking to appoint a postdoctoral researcher to contribute to an ARC funded project that involves quantifying global-scale patterns of mammalian biodiversity loss over the last 50,000 years. The main objective of this project is to show how changes in local-scale taxonomic, functional, and phylogenetic diversity during the Late Pleistocene and Holocene related to human dispersal, technological advancement, and population growth around the world. You will have completed a PhD, or equivalent research experience, within a discipline that is relevant to the areas of macroecology, macroevolution, vertebrate palaeontology, or zooarchaeology. You will have strong programming skills and experience in collecting, managing, and analysing biodiversity data using R. You will have a working knowledge of Late Pleistocene and Holocene fossil vertebrates. Optimally, you will have a strong interest in archaeology, biogeography, community ecology, extinction biology, or phylogenetics.
