The postholder will be part of the Scientific Research team, working across the Fitzwilliam and the Hamilton Kerr Institute. The Hamilton Kerr Institute is also going through a period of transformational change under its new Director, bringing together the current team at HKI with the Museum's Conservation and Scientific Research team, to form a new powerhouse of teaching, research and practice as an extraordinary scholarly resource within the University, the region and the world. The purpose of this role is to carry out technical research and scientific analysis of objects and artworks in the collections of the Fitzwilliam Museum and other institutions across the University of Cambridge. The role holder will investigate and document individual objects and works of art with a combination of non-invasive and invasive analytical tools, and microscopic techniques.
