Post-Doc : Feeding the Roman army in Britain (Cardiff)

 

Logo Cardiff UniversityThe School of History, Archaeology and Religion invites applications for full-time Research Associate to work on the Leverhulme-funded project: Feeding the Roman Army in Britain. The principal focus of the position is to deliver a programme of carbon, nitrogen and sulphur isotope analysis on faunal remains from Roman frontier sites in south-east Wales, Hadrian’s Wall and the Antonine Wall. The post will include data analysis, interpretation and dissemination. This is one of two isotope Research Associate positions that will work concurrently on the project. Key tasks of this position will include: Visiting museums to identify, select and sample faunal material for isotope analysis; Preparing collagen samples for isotope analysis; Assisting with data management, analysis and curation.
