The activities of the postgraduate researcher will follow up on the long-term research carried out at the Faculty of Restoration focused on the use of innovative conservation technologies for surfaces of historical architecture, mural paintings and stone artworks. The researcher will test, modify and evaluate selected innovative technologies for the conservation of the materials mentioned above. The testing and evaluation will be interdisciplinary and involve cooperation of the Department of Chemical Technology, Studio of Restoration and Conservation of Wall Paintings, Sgraffito and Mosaics and the Studio of Restoration and Conservation of Stone and Related Materials. The researcher will compare the basic properties of the tested materials on model samples (dummies) as well as on reference surfaces on selected real objects and also participate on the optimization of the conservation technologies in the frame of the testing. The methods and devices available at the Faculty of restoration will be used predominantly for the evaluation.
