The Palaeoproteomics Group, led by Associate Prof. Enrico Cappellini, in the Evolutionary Genomics section of the GLOBE Institute at the University of Copenhagen is recruiting a motivated and talented individual for the position of Palaeoproteomics Research Assistant. The successful candidate will have previous proteomics experience, especially in mass spectrometry, as well as an interest in archaeology, palaeoanthropology and palaeontology. This job will include wet lab preparation of very ancient as well as modern samples, close work with mass spectrometers (liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry, LC-MS/MS), managing raw data obtained, and further data analysis with specialised software. While this position is suited for someone with prior experience in proteomics and mass spectrometry, it also provides an opportunity to develop expertise in palaeoproteomics through the many projects already underway. Additional responsibilities include: day-to-day lab maintenance, liaising between the Proteomics Group, led by Prof. Jesper V. Olsen, at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research (CPR) and additional support to other members of the team and guests in the group (i.e. instruction in standard protocols, mass spectrometry support).
