Post-Doc : The innovation, dispersal and use of ceramics in NE Europe (York)

Reporting to the Director of BioArCh, you will join a team of technicians within our bioarchaeology laboratory facility located at Campus West (Heslington), who collectively provide a high-quality technical and scientific support service, supporting departmental teaching and research activities and ambitions. This role is funded by the European Research Council and will focus on providing technical and scientific support for the following research project: INDUCE, The Innovation, Dispersal and Use of Ceramics in NE Europe. The role will involve sample preparation and archiving, extraction of lipids and proteins from archaeological pottery and analysis by mass spectrometry. Applications are welcome from candidates with a strong background in archaeological chemistry and with prior practical experience of organic residue analysis of archaeological artefacts.
