The successful applicant will take a lead role in the laboratory-based micro-excavation, conservation, and reconstruction of new Neanderthal remains recovered as part of the Shanidar Cave Project between 2016 and 2019. They will work closely with co-PI Dr Emma Pomeroy, and will need to engage in close, detailed lab work with highly fragile and important hominin remains, as well as liaise with the wider project team regarding sampling and analysis. The ability to complete tasks in accordance with a realistic timetable and willingness to acquire new skills are important, and a demonstrable track record of experience working with similar materials is essential.
