Applicants are sought for a 9-12-month, postdoctoral fellowship on an interdisciplinary team conducting innovative geoarchaeological research on the continental shelf of the Georgia Bight. The research will apply both new and existing technologies to assess the inner continental shelf for proxy evidence of prehistoric archaeology and paleontology sites. The successful applicant must hold a recently earned (within the past 5 years) doctorate in geoscience or anthropology/archaeology with priority given to those applicants with a specialization in geoarchaeology. Skills should include, but not necessarily all/many of the following: marine geology/geophysics, use of Remotely-Operated Vehicle (ROV) technology, scientific diving, photogrammetry, prehistoric archaeology of eastern North America, soil/sediment analysis, GIS, SEM-EDX/XRD, petrography and/or zooarchaeology/paleontology.
