The project “Building sustainability: Investigating earthen architecture and social practices in the Ancient Near East” affiliated with the Centre of Excellence in Ancient Near Eastern Empires is pleased to announce a six-month, fixed-term visiting research fellowship concentrated on geoarchaeology and ceramic petrography. This project investigates Levantine Iron Age earthen architecture, specifically mudbricks, as integral part of material culture. The study aims to examine changes in architectural form and technology alongside the reconstruction of technological and social processes of earthen materials manufacture and construction.
