Jerzy Haber Institute of Catalysis and Surface Chemistry Polish Academy of Sciences, Krakow, Poland opens a position of a Research Assistant involved in the implementation of the NAWA-Craquelure and IPERION-HS projects in the Cultural Heritage Research Group of the Institute. The Research Assistant, supervised by the group leader, will work on the development of a website for quantitative risk analysis of historic objects. The developed software is a web-based tool supporting decision-making processes related to the conditions during exhibition and storing collections. It is addressed to conservators, curators and collection managers. The software tool, designed as an integrated platform based on the client-server architecture, will enable a quantitative risk assessment of objects loss of value, taking into account various risk agents such as incorrect environmental parameters (temperature, relative humidity, light intensity, etc.), fire or deposition of particles on architectural surfaces.
